Bats in the belfry!

We love our bats and enjoy seeing them skimming the meadow at dusk, hunting for insects and chattering away!  We've even invested in a bat detector so we there's a mix of pipistrelles and long-eared bats here.  Our village church is rich in bats in the belfry (amongst other places) and a lot of work is going into ensuring a healthy population; it's a lovely walk or cycle at dusk to experience them all coming out and we're arranging a full moon walk and bat talk on Wednesday 6th September with an expert from Suffolk Widlife Trust so that we can learn more about them and get to play with yet more bat detectors!  Some Natterer bats were recently re-homed in the church and we were lucky enough to get this amazing photo of them - if you fancy getting up close and personal to bats, Ivy Grange Farm is the place to be on 6th September!

Gorgeous coastline!

We couldn't resist sharing some of these lovely photos of Covehithe, taken in late June, with barely a soul on the beach and the North Sea warm enough for a proper dip!  The beach won't be for everyone (which, let's be honest, is part of the attraction) with limited parking and a 15 minute walk across footpaths and through woods to reach the beach and when you aarrive, there is absolutely nothing there except for sea and miles of sand.  No ice creams, no toilets, nothing (except a few tree trunks that have come down from the eroding coastline over the winter months).  Highly recommended and one of our favourite places!

2018 bookings!

We've just opened our 2018 booking calendar and we're currently holding prices the same for next year.  If you want to get in with some favoured dates for a holiday, romantic break, a special celebration or a group booking, it'll be worth getting in early!  You can book online here - our availability calendar is "live" so you can see what's booked and which slots are free. If you have questions we're always at the end of a phone (07802 456087) or email info@ivygrangefarm.co.uk.    We're very much looking forward to welcoming lovely returning guests as well as newbies to the Ivy Grange Farm experience!

Glamping film

We're delighted to be the subject of VisitSuffolk's latest film focusing on Glamping - take a look and see what you think.  The pizza oven (which features big time in the film!) has been put to great use this year and at last night's impromptu pizza evening we rocked through the cooking of 18 pizzas in no time - fun was had by all.

New - One Night Breaks in the Spring and Summer

We get lots of enquiries we get from couples who aren't sure if Glamping is for them and want to come away to try it out for a night, or who simply don't have much time!  So, always keen to respond to demand, we've opened up our smaller yurt Swallow and the lovely new Shepherd's Hut for one night bookings from Sunday-Thursday nights until the end of June.  So if you've been thinking about Glamping but weren't sure it was for you, or you simply don't have time to get away for a longer break, come and try it out.  You can book online here or send us an email or give us a call if you have any questions. We're sure you'll have a good time and will want to come back for longer....
